This Blog Is Brought to You By Spicey Ky
My name is Spicey Ky. I’m the gardening lover behind the Spicey’s Garden brand. I’m a fifty-year-old woman who lives in Moreno Valley, California. My gardening zone is 9B and I’m ecstatic about it.
What Is Spicey’s Garden?
This is my little sanctuary. It may not be pretty. But it’s well over ¼ acre of land for growing my own foods. I live by companion planting and succession planting and truly want to share my gardening experiences with you.
When Did Spicey Start Gardening?
This is a project I’m currently working on in the front yard of Spicey’s Garden. My poor neighbors. Lol
As a child, I was raised and reared by my grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and great-great-grandfather, who kept me in their gardens. Later, my mother started a garden in our backyard as well.
Fast forward to the hoarding of 2020, caused by the coronavirus AKA COVID-19 mask hysteria. I found myself crying like a baby in the parking lot of Sam’s Club trying to find baby formula for the newborn G-Baby and food for our house of six.
That’s when I decided, right then and there, that I was starting my own garden. I picked a plot of land, tilled the soil and started dropping seeds. Spicey’s Garden continued growing over the past year. Today, it now consists of:
- 3 In-Ground Beds
- 7 Raised Beds
- 1 Kiddie Swimming Pool
- 2 Container Garden Areas
Where Is Spicey’s Garden?
My little sanctuary is located in Moreno Valley, CA. That’s Zone 9B in gardening talk! Be bout that gardening life in 2021.
